We are happy to commemorate another lovely and rewarding small-group Intensive English Crash Course. For the first time we welcomed students to our canal house on the historic Thorbeckegracht in Zwolle.
In a week full of sunshine and brilliant weather we started our course with four enthusiastic, and at first quite nervous, participants. The nerves disappeared like clouds before the brilliant sunshine and soon everyone was participating in discussions about their lives, the issues they were dealing with regarding English and so much more.
The curriculum is relevant and the content invites adults to explore their ability to express themselves in English. The days flew by and we spent lunchtimes chatting not only about the course, but about topics close to our hearts. The centre of Zwolle invited us to explore its many historic buildings and we had an especially memorable afternoon doing a tour created by the participants for each other – let’s just say it included push-ups and posing in the window display of the C&A…
On Friday afternoon we were able to look back on a week full of accomplishments – the reluctance to speak English had disappeared and the participants went home with determination to continue their English learning journey. Congratulations to Bob, Archell, Monique and Karin!
